Tomorrow Beckoning Blood will be released onto the public. Two blood-thirsty – and devilishly handsome – twin vampires make their debut in the world of publishing.
Just like on Christmas Eve, I’m filled with a sense of excitement of what’s to come. Unlike Christmas Eve though, I have no idea what I’m going to get.
Will readers like it? Will they hate it? Will the lovers outnumber the haters? And will enough people like it that I have a chance to get a second book published?
Of course, there’s nothing I can do about it now. The book is set, it’s out there already. People have begun reading it – and reviewing it – and what will be will be.
So, like Christmas, I’m going to do my best to enjoy the book launch for what I can get.
There’s the pride and stress over seeing it released onto the world, like serving up the turkey for lunch – and criticism.
There’s the joy of it being unwrapped and people hopefully liking the gift they receive tomorrow when their pre-ordered copy arrives like magic on their ereaders.
And there’ll be the comedown at the end of the day, the clean-up, the sighs over a special day and the anticipation for the next one.
So, until tomorrow, I’ll do my best to keep my anticipation at a controllable level – and maybe indulge in a chocolate biscuit and a glass of milk (or something stronger).
